Kids and Youth classes - end of term

Thanks to everyone who was there this year, we had a great term to finish off for kids and youth classes. I’m really proud and a lot surprised about how fast everyone is picking it up. Even the new kids this term are doing really well.

We’ll be running drop in classes over most of the holiday period. So they won’t have to go too long without getting on the mats :) I’ll be sending out emails about it but feel free to get in touch if your children aren't training yet and you’d like to start.

Well done!

p.s. thanks for the card Charlotte

Toa's Christmas celebration this Saturday - from 1:30 - Keith Stephenson Park

Toa BJJ has had a great year - new kids classes, Judo and Striking coaches joining the team, and some advanced technique classes added. We also had opportunities to support community events and posted some great results through out the year at competition.

Thanks to all our members for contributing to the club this year and I like to invite you all to join us for a Christmas celebration picnic in Keith Stephenson Park after training on Saturday (1:30pm onwards).

It’s a bit late notice but it would be great to see you there. Family and friends are welcome, it’s going to be pretty casual. We’ll have some balls and games and might also take some of the Thai pads and focus mits over since the kids seem to like them.

We’ll supply picnic food and some basic drinks but please feel free to bring your own if you wish.

An Interview with our Judo coach - James

A great little interview with Toa BJJ’s Judo coach James Chirgwin, by Rick Roccisano.

He sound a bit disappointed but he won double gold here. He’s a great at the club helping with our stand up and a few guys have even started hitting some nice throws at competition (in the second video). It’s good to see Jiu-jitsu training is paying off for James as well - he’s landing a lot of submissions these days and looking better and better all the time.

Thanks for your hard work!

Striking class - Schedule changes for the rest of the year.

Ben is busy this Saturday (24/11/18), he tried to shift his schedule to make it but it’s not going to work out so Striking class will be open mat - 2 hours of open mat this Saturday. I’ll be there coaching if you want to work on technique.

From the following Saturday (1/12/18) onwards the striking class will run from 11 am - 12pm. Open mat will run from 12pm - 1 pm.

Saturday (15/12/18), striking class and open mat will also be cancelled for Thiago’s seminar which starts at 10am.

See you all on the mats.
