We train combat sports and we train as a team. Here are some guidelines to make our trainings go smoothly. Ask the coaches if you’re unsure about anything.

  • Do not JUMP onto your training partners - whether your opponent is standing or on the ground. This includes if your weight is supported by only your arms.

  • No heel hooks, toe holds, knee reaping or knee bars in fundamental class.

  • No small joint manipulation or locks - fingers and toes. Be careful with wrist locks, if you wrist lock you are responsible for you partners safety.

  • If you lift your training partner you are responsible for their safety - this includes Judo throws.

  • Stick to your space on the mat - reset if you move into someone else’s space.

  • Have good hygiene - be clean, wash your hand, have clean training gear (washed after every session you train in it). Trimmed nails and toes. Tape cuts, blisters, etc. Do not train while sick or displaying symptoms of sickness.

  • No eye gouging.

  • Do you best not to kick, punch, knee or elbow during Jiu-Jitsu class. If you often get hit ask an instructor how to prevent it!

  • No mouth guard no sparring (striking).

  • No shoes on the mats.

  • Wear shoes when you leave the mats.
